The Wheeler Centre’s workspace chambers and compartments resonate the intimacy and rhythm of the grand Queen’s Hall and reference the heritage mezzanine above through their subtle heritage tones (injected with shots of bold colour). Layering of space and a low slung aesthetic emphasise the building’s linear character. A ‘touching lightly’ concept contributes to the elegant sight lines in regards to exposed services and is also referenced in the main entry where a sculptural Geoffrey Mance design is suspended. The performance hall facilitates webcasting and podcasting.
