The material honesty, simplicity and subtle detailing of the New York fashion labels retailing in Icarus inspired ideas of adaptive reuse interiors typical of New York. The interior is suave and dashing, rather like a gentleman’s dressing room. This historical narrative is supported by the lived-in atmosphere crafted in the former terrace house. The brick walls, fireplace and floors are exposed in their original state, enhanced by a minimal palette of materials, including milled brass, rough sawn plywood and galvanised scaffold pipes.
