The intention for The Naked Lady was to create a sophisticated sculptural and functional piece of furniture. It provides for different seating arrangements, for instance, lounging, leaning, perching and sitting, and the three sections can create different zoning patterns, enabling interaction. The design seeks to maintain a sense of mystery, as the magazines contain contemporary issues inaccessible to the user. The form represents the soft feminine curves of a naked lady that allows the users to mould their bodies to the shape. The name, The Naked Lady, also stems from the incorporation of nude magazines, contrasting the elegant and sophisticated form of the piece.
