Located on an entire upper floor of a building in Melbourne’s CBD, the residence is designed to be as much a home as it is a showpiece. The simple and expressive use of materials creates an amplified domestic experience. Walls have been designed as screens, not touching the ceiling and appearing to float, maximising light transmission and visual connection, yet maintaining privacy. Oversized joinery reflects the urban context, and rugs provide warmth and intimacy against the perforated ceiling and extensive aluminium wall panelling.
