The new house on a steeply sloping hilltop overlooking Whale Beach consists of three partially overlapping, offset rectangular volumes, each with a northerly terrace formed by the lower level. A wide staircase continues in one line throughout the height of the section, linking the levels, and providing a dramatic volume on entry. The entry features a travertine-clad vestibule with a frameless glass roof to the sky. The lower level opens out to a deck with a cantilevered offset lap pool with a dramatic glass end giving underwater views. The house includes a lockable “Owners’ Suite” on the upper level.
