East Prahran Residence

The interior of this heritage residence, accommodating the bedrooms and bathrooms, was substantially refurbished. An open plan “pavilion” was added at the rear of the site for the more public functions of living, dining and cooking. The “pavilion” sits amongst the tranquility of an established and treasured landscape. The metal detailing and full-height glazing of the “pavilion” allow in the tapestry of light and shade, filtered through the canopy of native trees, evoking the feeling of a park. Louvres and a skylight provide natural ventilation and light. The use of natural bluestone and timber materials throughout further harmonise the interior with the exterior.
