The new home of HASSELL gathers people together. The former Keatings Bread Factory building has been extensively refurbished to create a suite of open-plan interconnected studio and gathering spaces that reinforce HASSELL design philosophies. A new pavilion building creates a civic entry sequence and colonnaded courtyard. The central courtyard is the symbolic and physical gathering space for the studio, which also visually amplifies the outdoor condition of the interior. The rebuilding work follows the tradition of the lineage of brick structures on the site, by integrating and amending the old with the new.
