Sanctuary Place House

Making camp in the suburbs. This title for me brings together two cultures and their ways of inhabiting this land – Aboriginal camp and European occupation. Sited at the end of a long winding cul-de-sac of standard hipped roofed suburban houses, we make camp. We protect our backs from the foul wind and cook to an open sky, sleep in a closed tent, look toward a prospect, feel earth under our feet and breath in the smells of this land.
