What is the ‘big (IDEA)’ behind this project?
The Paper Tiger Stool was originally conceived as a flat-packing cardboard stool capable of assembly with simple tabs and slots – no glue required. Cardboard was chosen as it is a sustainable material of recycled matter, it can be mass produced locally and cheaply and is a printable medium. Printing allows a rewnewable graphic identity in the semi-permanent stool. Echo Panel (made from fibrous PET), Plaspanel (recycled plastic board) and Corflute (recyclable plastic) are also being tested for use, as cardboard alternatives.
