What is the ‘big (IDEA)’ behind this project?
H1 House seeks to breakdown the confines of a tight inner city block by promoting the concept of shared living and green space. A dual site approach includes the development of the adjacent block and the proposed neighbouring house. H1 house was conceived as a long, low pavilion hovering above the ground plane, stretching from the street front to the rear boundary. Inverting a typical Queenslander, the house draws its circulation to the perimeter of the slender form, and promotes cross ventilation and daylight.
