What is the ‘big (IDEA)’ behind this project?
The Victorian Cultural Network needed mobile internet access points for the foyers of Victoria’s leading cultural institutions. We developed furniture and communication modules to be like game pieces, each with its own function and character. Seating design stresses the significance of a comfortable viewing place. The large display screen appears wafer thin, reducing its solidity and emphasising its digital function. All the site elements are connected by a central steel ‘rug’ or cable tray. The modular system allows for easy customisation and the design of the sheet steel technology nacelles provides quick, straightforward access to the hardware by service staff.
